A former member of the Wikileaks Web site has launched a competitor, called OpenLeaks to give whistleblowers more control over sensitive information they wish to reveal.

An alternative site Wikileaks, founded by dissidents from the site of Julian Assange, was born. Called OpenLeaks , he promises more transparency and control informants by allowing anonymous sources to choose the recipients of the documents, such as a specific medium, said Daniel Domscheit-Berg, Friday in Davos. He hoped that the site, which will come in the testing phase in a few weeks, will be fully operational during the year.

Mr. Domscheit-Berg says that the site, which he defines as "complementary" and not Wikileaks competitor, has no source of funding for now, but promised full transparency in case of disbursement of funds.

OpenLeaks was launched on the sidelines of World Economic Forum (WEF), which brings together economic and political leaders at Davos in the Swiss Alps.
